Latino Television Programs Fill A Void In Hispanic Advertising

Latino Television Programs Fill a Void in Hispanic Advertising

by Louis Victor

Advertisers that are beginning to focus on the young Hispanic market have been given a gift in the form of Latino television programming. Now mind you it’s not your typical Latino television programming that you would find on Univsion, this programming is geared towards the large and most overlooked demographic, U.S. born Latinos.

Advertisers crave the buying power of the Hispanic market, the largest minority group in the United States today. But the problem is that they are limited in their knowledge of the Latino community. While they are looking for different types of media to use to hit this desirable market and have their agencies working overtime on the creative end, they are still missing the point.

They are not hitting their intended market, but that has been made much easier for them. They received a gift from the television world in the form of AIM Tell-A-Vision, a distributor of English langauge Latino television programming. Too often advertisers specially create an ad campaign in Spanish to hit the young U.S. Latino market and by doing that they are shortchanging their brand. As I have stated in various articles, the U.S. Latino market is not a mystery, but advertisers have to go beyond their ad agency and do their own homework.

AIM Tell-A-Vision has made it easier for an advertiser to hit this desirable market by developing various English langauge programs such as UrbanLatino Television, American Latino Television, Sonidos and Latination. This programming is developed especially to attract young U.S. born Latinos that speak English, which represents over two thirds of the Hispanic market here in the United States.

An advertiser can actually create an ad campaign in English and get their message in front of the intended audience and not the assumed audience. That’s not to say that an advertiser doesn’t have to gear the campaign towards the Latino market but this medium makes it easier for them to actually gauge their efforts.

Marketers have to disperse of the “Stereotype Marketing” that has engulfed the media dollars which are intended to build brand awareness within this demographic. They need to realize that the U.S. Latino market cannot be put in a cyclone, it is an evolving culture and of the over 65 million Latinos in the United States today, over 25 million are U.S. born.

So how does an advertiser looking to hit the young U.S. Latino market reach them?

Well they first need to bring in an advertising and marketing agency that understands this demographic, like New Age Media Concepts, then develop creative that is geared towards the English speaking U.S. Latino market and put together a comprehensive marketing plan that will get their message to the intended audience.

Of course this would encompass various types of media and not just television, but AIM Tell-A-Vision is an example of an overlooked medium that should be embraced if an advertiser wants to tap into the massive buying power of the U.S. born Latino market.

Japan's 'Iron Chef' Cooking Game Show

Japan's 'Iron Chef' Cooking Game Show

by Ross Everett

'Iron Chef' is a crazy Japanese import cooking game show that features accomplished chefs from around the world going head to head in a competition format that's part Julia Child, part pro wrestling. Even non-foodies are drawn to the show for its sheer entertainment value.

The show was originally created by the Fuji TV network in the Japan, and the original Japanese title translates literally to The Iron Men of Cooking. The premise behind the competition is even more outlandish. An eccentric millionaire and food lover MC Kaga, summons the summons the finest chefs in Japan to do battle in his kitchen stadium. Also in residence are three Iron Chefs, each representing a different type of cuisine (Chinese, French and Japanese). The summoned culinary challenger picks which Iron Chef he wants to take a crack at and the contest begins.

Adding even more 'spice' to the show--each dish must include the 'theme ingredient' which is kept a mystery until immediately before the competition begins. With great pomp and amid smoke and pyrotechnics, Kaga reveals the 'mystery ingredient'. Sometimes it'll be something basic like apples or tofu, other times it's more obscure like ox tail or some otherworldly shellfish.

The chefs then have an hour to prepare a seven-course meal to be served to a panel of what I presume to be mid-level Japanese celebrities. They rate and discuss each participants offering and pick a winner. At the end of the show with much fan fare Kaga reveals the winner. Its a great honor to beat one of the Iron Chefs, though its no easy feat.

The announcing is what makes the show. There's a hysterical play by play announcer, an excitable color commentator, and an even more hyperactive sideline correspondent who will break in the commentary frequently with revelations such as observing that a chef is using fresh ginger in a dish or some similar piece of trivia. Apparently one of the announcers is a legit sumo wrestling announcer in Japan, making the strange connection between 'Iron Chef' and Japanese pro wrestling even more pronounced.

The dishes that are presented are always amazing and creative. Sometimes they might not be the most appetizing creations, but that's to be expected when you have to make a desert with something like pickled carp as a theme ingredient. The creative process and the competition is what makes the show a must watch.

The Food Network has recently begun production of a native grown version called 'Iron Chef America'. It has a similar format, but really loses a lot from the Fuji TV original.

Direct TV: Reasons Why You Got To Have DIRECTV

Direct TV: Reasons Why You Got To Have DIRECTV

by Dorthy Weatherbush

If you are considering getting satellite or cable television, you have to put Directv at the top of your list. If you aren't considering getting satellite or cable, you should be! Direct TV is definitely the best and ultimate in satellite television. The first reason why is that they make it incredibly easy to sign up. The only thing required on your part is your address.

As soon as they know where exactly you live, they send one of their trusted installers to your house to perform an installation. They will work around your schedule so that the installation is done at a convenient time and date for you. The installation doesn't usually take more than 90 minutes, and you don't have to lift more than the finger required to open the front door and let the installer in!

Once the installer arrives at your house, he will do some wiring and check to make sure that all of your receivers are in good and working order; the installer will also make sure that every receiver is properly programmed. With Direct tv, you can choose from HD, DVR, or HD DVR receivers. Depending on what the needs and desires are for your household, you may want either one of these packages.

Once the installer has completed the home installation of your Directv, you will be shown how to use your services so that you can enjoy the Direct TV experience for everything that it is. Directv has a variety of options to choose from in terms of packages and pricing, so that the services can be tailored to fit any budget. For those that need something a little cheaper, for instance, the family package has over 50 wonderful channels for just under $30 per month.

Movie lovers will absolutely love the number of movie channels that Directv has to offer. They have everything including Starz, HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax. They also have movies on demand which allows you to order the latest movies. But the best part is that you don't have to worry about rentals and late fees. You never have to leave the comfort of your own home, and you don't have to worry about returning anything!

If your family is into watching sports together, then you will definitely want to check out what Directv has to offer in terms of a sports package. They have great deals for football, basketball, and baseball seasons. They offer almost every sports channel available, so it's just up to you to decide what exactly it is that you want to watch.

We live in an age of movers; what that means is that people don't live in any one place for too long so its important that the moving process be made as simple and easy as possible. That's why Direct TV allows you to take your receivers to your new house and they will install a new satellite at your new house for FREE. You don't even have to worry about the satellite you left at your old place.

The decision to get satellite is a good one, but the decision to go with Directv is a great one. You will not be disappointed with DIRECTVs service or anything else, and are sure to have the best television experience ever!

It a known fact that the Lost on ABC is an extraordinary and a unique series that includes suspense, mystery and drama. Its viewers have been hooked on to it over the period of five years. ABC lost is about many things apart from the suspense element to its plot. It has passing references to most of the events happening on the earth be it present or past.

For instance, the books read by the characters on the Lost on ABC or the games played by them in their leisure time are not much different than the games we play or the bestseller books in the market. Tips On Setting Goals - Setting Goals Objectives

Tips on setting goals - setting goals objectives

by Cheryline Lawson

The greatest salesman in the world, and renowned self-help author Zig Ziglar in his book “See You At The Top” has laid out the importance of goals in every sphere of life. A person has goals that are physical, family-oriented, mental, social, career-oriented, financial and spiritual. Every goal is woven around an action plan that can lead to its success.

One of the best tips on setting goals is to write them down on a piece of paper or a planner on your computer. Most of us are skeptical about doing so and think it is waste of time to write down their goals. But we do not know that our memory can cheat us easily. Life demands so much from us every day that it is very easy to lose sight of our goals. So it is important to write your goals on paper and keep them in front of you every day, so that you can see yourself working on them.

Another intelligent tip on setting goals is to find out the obstacles and hurdles that can stop you from achieving your goals. This is not a negative approach, but a realistic one. On a busy day, there is heavy traffic and vehicles that hinder your car from reaching your destination by a required time. But if you know what time, the traffic is at its lowest, you will be able to reach your destination faster. It is right when experts say that when you have identified a problem properly, it means you have solved it. Once you identify the hurdle or obstacle to your goal, you will be able to cruise along smartly.

Last but not the least, one more important tip on setting goals is to make sure that your goals or targets are not unrealistic. If you are thinking about earning one million dollars in one year, you are being unrealistic. A professional wrestler should challenge the fighter who ranks above him to start with, rather than the champion of the year. Success is nothing but ‘gradual, progressive’ realization of your dreams. In time, you will be able to achieve anything and everything.

If you really want to learn how to start your very own personal goals list, then head on over to http://tipsonsettinggoals.blogspot.com right now.

Organizing Your Scrapbook Space To Help Your At Home Scrapbooking Business.

Organizing your scrapbook space to help your at home
scrapbooking business.

by Colleen Shiach

How do you keep all those scrapbooking supplies organized to run
your scrapbooking company efficiently. Here are several helpful
tips to keep your scrapbooking business organized and efficient.
In this article we will cover, theme items, fibers, ribbon and
paper.

There are an endless number of tools and supplies that help us
turn plain pages into works of art for our customers. But
organizing and storing all those wonderful embellishments we use
to create with can be challenging. Spending time digging through
drawers and boxes looking for supplies is frustrating and time
consuming and time is money. There are simple and inexpensive
ways to help you spend less time searching for your supplies and
more time exactly creating.

Sorting supplies by categories or themes is very useful and you
can tell at a glance what you have in stock. Some useful
categories are Winter, Christmas, Easter, Valentines, Baby girl,
Baby boy, etc. Create interesting labels using 2"x 4" address
labels and your computer. You can have fun with this too by
adding small graphics and matching the font to your business
cards.

Be sure to save all those scrap pieces of paper into themes
also. A great item for this are those accordion style keepers
available at most office supply stores and 12"x 12" Paper
Envelopes by Cropper Hopper. By saving all those scraps of paper
you can use them to make die cuts and punches to match those
wonderful pages you are creating.

What to do with all those fibers and ribbons ? Place fibers in
small plastic bags and store them in your theme containers.
Smaller plastic containers work great to store fibers by colors.
You can also use recycled clear jars, cleaned and labels
removed, and sort by color. Add your creative labels to these
also. Photo boxes are a great size for holding spools of ribbon
and these come in clear also. Another great solution is to hang
a pretty curtain rod on your wall and thread those ribbon spools
on the curtain rod.

Paper is one of the most important staples and storage is also a
major problem for most at home scrap booking businesses. Paper
comes in hundreds of different colors, patterns, textures and
weights. It needs to be kept dry and clean, be photo safe and
stored in plain sight. Paper can be stored in a wide variety of
ways but horizontal is the best. There are lots of wonderful
products out there, from wire storage racks to clear stacking
plastic trays and are a very good investments.
